To help Hailsham Foodbank with some extra funding, and to get the Easter Egg hunt off to a great start, we decided that we would make a donation payment of £5 for every entry in our competition. We were absolutely delighted to receive a staggering 162 entries which generated a payment to Hailsham Foodbank of £810 - fantastic!
“We would like to thank each and every person who entered the competition and helped raise this money for Hailsham Foodbank” said Mike Crane, owner and managing director of Crane & Co, “We were surprised and delighted to see the number of people that had entered. What a great sense of community we have here in Hailsham.”
The winner of the competition, David, whose prize consisted of six medium size Easter eggs to share with his family, spoke of his surprise at winning, “Thank you so much for the amazing prize, I didn't expect to win. I look forward to sharing these eggs with my wife and son. I'm also donating three to a charity raffle as a prize in a quiz night I'm attending."
“Thank you to Crane & Co and everyone who entered the competition who helped to raise such a fantastic amount of money.” said Julie at Hailsham Foodbank, “It will go a long way to helping us buy essential items for the families we support, especially during these difficult times when we are all feeling the effects of the rising cost of living. If you would like to find out more about how we can help, or would like to make a donation yourself, please visit our website hailsham.foodbank.org.uk.”
Can you help Hailsham Foodbank too? As you might imagine, there are local families really struggling with the increases in the cost of living, and the need for the support of this wonderful charity is growing every day. Perhaps a lesser know effect of the cost of living spiking so fast, is that donations can be affected too. Many charities that we support are all telling us the same story - the cost of living creates increased demand but also has the effect of reducing donations when more and more local residents feel the squeeze themselves.
